We refer to our Clarity PPM Expert Services Upgrade program as the “Celerity Assure®" method - “Celerity” meaning speed of solutioning and “Assure” representing fully risk mitigated and highly reliable Clarity PPM upgrades. This methodology is based on real-world experiences and exceptionally referenced best practices knowledge that our expert CA Clarity PPM certified consultants have delivered to clients over the years, in all industry verticals.
Upgrading CA Clarity PPM can be a trouble-free and well sequenced process resulting in an upgrade that most end- users will not be aware even occurred, or it can be an elongated process resulting in stress and cost overruns. Comprehensive analysis of the current CA Clarity PPM installation from both a technical and functional perspective will identify risks and opportunities for the upgrade, and can ensure a highly favorable process.
An upgrade assessment document will provide detailed and comprehensive information on changes and enhancements made to features in the next version of CA Clarity PPM (Clarity PPM Version 13), and will assess the impact of these enhancements to functionality currently leveraged by our client. The document provides stakeholders with information on risks, impact, opportunities and recommendations so that an effective CA Clarity PPM upgrade can be implemented. We partner with our client during the preparation of the Upgrade Assessment document and receive approvals of the detailed process prior to proceeding with the upgrade
The upgrade assessment document includes:
- Goals of the upgrade
- Currently used functionality that has changed, and the impact and risk of these changes
- New functionality that can be leveraged to replace custom or non-standard features
- Technical requirements for both the hardware and supporting infrastructure software
- Custom features that may need to be configured or rewritten
- Suggested approach and options for the CA Clarity PPM Version 13 upgrade
Methodology
Digital Celerity will work with your staff to plan the upgrade using the following best practices:
- Upgrade CA Clarity PPM in all development, test and production environments to the most current fix pack
- Document all actions taken to the CA Clarity PPM instance
- Project management of all related tasks to ensure optimal quality of project tasks, deliverables, proactive communications, risk mitigation, and best practices.
Three levels of upgrades
Digital Celerity provides three levels of upgrades and we can also customize each package to meet your needs:
Celerity Assure 1
The first level service is for clients that wish to perform all of the testing, data tidying and training themselves but do not have the expertise to upgrade the CA Clarity PPM software
Celerity Assure 2
This service is aimed at those clients with a dedicated CA Clarity PPM support team but that require more assistance with their CA Clarity PPM upgrade
Celerity Assure 3
The third level service is aimed at those clients who do not have a dedicated team that look after their CA Clarity PPM installation or do not have the capacity to offer mentoring in the new release.
Celerity Assure 1
The first level service is aimed at those clients that wish to perform all of the testing, data tidying and training themselves but do not have the expertise to upgrade the CA Clarity PPM software. Digital Celerity consultants will conduct an impact assessment on your implementation of CA Clarity PPM and upgrade your development, test and production CA Clarity PPM instances to the next version of CA Clarity PPM. We can either upgrade your installations to use Actuate 9 or switch them to CA Business Intelligence depending upon your preference. We will perform basic installation tests to validate the upgrades have successfully completed so that you can be confident that your installations are ready for functional and user acceptance testing as well as providing a report of the activity and configuration for each platform. On completion of the production upgrade we will provide technical support to help with any issues that may arise.
Celerity Assure 2
The second level of service is aimed at those clients with a dedicated CA Clarity PPM support team but that require more assistance with their CA Clarity PPM upgrade. Our mid level and most popular packaged service offering delivers all of the CA Clarity PPM upgrade services listed above in Celerity Assure 1, as well as providing access to SPT training packages. We will work with your PMO to prepare functional test scripts based on your implementation of CA Clarity PPM and will provide assistance to your testers in the execution of these tests. After you have gone live with this new release we will provide functional support during the initial days of operation to help address any issues or questions raised.
Celerity Assure 3
The third level of service is aimed at those clients who do not have a dedicated team that look after their CA Clarity PPM installation or do not have the capacity to offer mentoring in the new release. Our more comprehensive service offering provides all of the services of the Celerity Assure 2 package as well as additional Web based training, and mentoring to your PMO team. We will also assist in the data cleansing that is necessary for the upgrade and assist with the optimal operation of your CA Clarity PPM solution.
